Spotted in Shoprite South Africa: EU chicken with no abattoir number, batch number, production date or expiry date. Frozen but labelled as ‘previously frozen’ – does this mean it was defrosted, repacked and sold as fresh meat, before being frozen again because it didn’t sell? Can Shoprite assure us that this is safe to eat?
