Astral announced earlier this month that it will test the market for canned chicken to compete with the 410g tins of pilchards which are taking some market share from chicken products. Now Oceana has said it will expand its new canned chicken liver business in the Eastern Cape.
News24 reports that Oceana CEO Neville Brink believes there is “significant growth potential” at the canned chicken livers operation in Graaff-Reinet, in which Oceana acquired a 75% interest a month ago.
The two companies will be going head-to-head in a new market. Or tin to tin.
