A new Industrial Policy Masterclass at the University of Pretoria offers insights that could benefit local industries and help create stronger, fairer markets across Africa.
The Centre for Human Rights, based in the university’s faculty of law, is offering a virtual Industrial Policy Masterclass with two components – a four-day one at the end of this month, followed by a two-day workshop in March next year.
“This course will help government officials in the policy space to better design, implement and assess policies within the new framework of the AfCFTA (African Continental Free Trade Agreement),” the university says.
“For those in the private sector, this course will help to better understand the thinking behind industrial policy and formulate better business strategies to operate in a world where industrial policy is increasingly important.”
The online course is described as globally relevant and not country specific. The first course is from 25 to 28 November.
