Spotted in the fresh meat section of Checkers: Frozen imported poultry which has been thawed on arrival in SA, hand sorted, ‘flavoured’, repackaged and sold as fresh. No batch / abattoir numbers and no expiry dates (only an in-store sell-by date). Should this chicken be illegal? Is this a decent product to sell? Is it safe?
