The European Union is so determined to prevent dumped imports that it has set up an anti-dumping help desk and promotes it to small businesses in particular.
“Defend your business against dumped or subsidised imports,” it says. “If you are a small business producing in the EU, your company may be harmed by low-priced imports from non-EU countries which are dumped and subsidised.
“The EU commission may be able to help you address this unfair competition and take action by using the EU’s trade defence instruments.”
Now that’s a useful service. Pity they don’t also have a help desk advising EU producers against dumping their products in other countries.
