Bird flu bans imposed since 2017 have severely limited EU poultry exports to SA, and they are down again by 67% in the first quarter of this year.
South Africa has also increased poultry tariffs and implemented anti-dumping duties, and is undertaking a review of its poultry sector trade policy.
