Buying local supports local businesses and local jobs

Proudly South African’s flagship event, the annual Buy Local Summit & Expo, will once again showcase the successes and opportunities in South African-made products.

The Expo returns to the Sandton Convention Centre after two years of Covid-19 disruption. It was cancelled in 2020 and held virtually last year.

The 2021 Expo was addressed by President Cyril Ramaphosa, who said every South African, whether individual or business, “can and should all choose to buy local”.

“By buying local-produced goods we are supporting livelihoods, small business development and job creation,” he told the online audience.

This year’s event will look at how government and the private sector can promote the buy local movement.

The summit is on the 27th and 28th of March. Attendance is free, but pre-registration is required to gain access to the event.
